For a cheerful and energetic week in July/August 2009 Copenhagen was host to the 2nd edition of the World OutGames and OutGames Human Rights Conference. The Danish Prime Minister and the Lord Mayor of Copenhagen welcomed thousands of athletes and activists to the city. In the streets and in the press these special events were given plenty of attention. Numerous gay venues welcomed the visitors with parties.
